JAMES P WEATHERALL
At the age of seven, James P Weatherall decided he wanted to be a film director. So armed with a video camera and a few willing, and unwilling friends he set out to make his master
piece…
Following this he went on to study Film Production at University College Northampton. (His first student Film Malicious Practice winning various awards at student festivals across the U.K.) He then went onto the London International Film School studying “The art & Technique of film”, specializing in the fields of directing, editing & cinematography.
From here he began his professional career firstly working with local Authorities within young offenders institutions creating short films that reflected the needs and fears of the young inmates. The film Needle was picked up for UK terrestrial broadcast and played at various festivals across the globe.
Moving on, he then went to work for Shooting Pictures, Directing various corporate promotions/advertisements, short fil
ms and successful music promos.
James was then sought after by JAB film productions to direct, edit and light their short action drama A.1.1.4.H, which played at Canes 2005.
Once again more worked followed in the form of Directing, lighting and editing test digita
l footage & action sequences for the proposed feature 11:59 for producer Steve Wimpress of I.A.E Film Productions.
Most recently James co-founded the production company SECTION 2 with partner Lennah Seelig. Their first project the comedy Scrambled Eggs and Toast was well received which they followed with the tense thriller Room 36.
They are currently busy in co-development with their first feature film.
